S.P.A.N. Membership
By joining S.P.A.N., you will become part of the largest organization representing Las Vegas street performers and artists in the State of Nevada. There are no permits or licenses required by law to perform on the streets in Las Vegas. Members of S.P.A.N. will be distinguishable from other performers as those with the highest standards and knowledge of the law.
Please take a moment and familiarize yourself with the rules and bylaws of our organization. Hopefully, you will be as excited as our 5 founders and share the same vision of changing how street performing is viewed in Las Vegas. Together we can minimize complaints from tourists, casinos, law enforcement officers and business owners.
Changes are needed, and our goal is to participate in making it happen. For this purpose we have retained First Amendment Lawyer Allen Lichtenstein as our legal counsel. Mr. Lichtenstein is the former General Counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union (A.C.L.U.) of Nevada, serving in that position for the past 17 years. Mr. Lichtenstein participated in the creation of the current city ordinances regarding street performing, after winning cases against the city on Constitutional grounds. If new city ordinances are introduced, Mr. Lichtenstein will have a seat at the negotiating table, playing an important role on behalf of S.P.A.N.

Membership Advantages
1. Your membership will maintain the organization that is representing you.
2. You will receive a personalized membership card, identifying you as a S.P.A.N. member. Displaying your membership card while performing will identify you to law enforcement officers, casino personnel and tourists as a member of this professional organization.
3. You will be sent our newsletter monthly, informing you of upcoming events and any negotiations currently in progress.
4. A pre-arranged members only special rate for legal services, in the event you are arrested or ticketed without proper cause (i.e. unnecessary harrassment)
5. A personal web page will be designed for you on the official S.P.A.N. website containing all your contact information, photos, music, biography and videos. This will generate the largest cross promotion network for Las Vegas street performers. Members will be promoting each other by giving away cards bearing the S.P.A.N. web address.
6. You will meet photographer Richard Faverty at Beckett studios and have one headshot taken suitable for your web page at no cost to you. If you desire extra shots in multiple costumes, Mr. Faverty has arranged a special rate for S.P.A.N. members only.
